DUTCH COUNTRYSIDE TOUR PACKAGE 

Day 1: Arrival in Amsterdam

Arrive at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

Transfer to your hotel in Amsterdam.

Evening canal cruise in Amsterdam to explore the city’s picturesque canals.

Head to the hotel. Have lunch and overnight in the hotel in Amsterdam.

 

Day 2: Amsterdam

After breakfast, in a hotel, we head to Van Gogh Museum: Start your day by visiting the Van Gogh Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of Vincent van Gogh’s paintings and drawings.

Museumplein: After exploring the museum, take a leisurely stroll through Museumplein, a park surrounded by several important cultural institutions. You can enjoy the open space and perhaps even have a picnic if the weather is nice.

Lunch in De Pijp: Head to the De Pijp neighborhood, known for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse food options. You’ll find numerous cafes and restaurants to satisfy your appetite.

Afternoon: 

Vondelpark: Spend your afternoon at Vondelpark, Amsterdam’s most famous park. It’s an excellent place for a relaxing walk, bike ride, or simply enjoying the greenery.

Rijksmuseum: Visit the Rijksmuseum, home to an impressive collection of Dutch Golden Age paintings.

Late Afternoon: Leidseplein: Explore Leidseplein, a lively square with plenty of shops, cafes, and entertainment options. It’s a great place to soak in the city’s atmosphere.

Head to the hotel. Have lunch and overnight in the hotel in Amsterdam.

 

Day 3: Amsterdam – Utrecht

Depart for Utrecht, a charming city with historic canals and unique architecture.

Explore the Dom Tower, Utrecht’s iconic landmark.

Having lunch, visit the Railway Museum or the Centraal Museum, home to an impressive art collection. Head to the hotel. Have lunch and overnight in the hotel in Utrecht.

 

Day 4: Utrecht – Giethoorn

Drive to Giethoorn, known as the “Venice of the North” due to its picturesque canals.

Enjoy a boat tour through Giethoorn’s canals.

Explore the village on foot or by bicycle.

Head to the hotel. Have lunch and overnight in the hotel in Giethoorn.

 

Day 5: Giethoorn – Giethoorn

After breakfast, set out for a day trip to explore the countryside around Giethoorn.

Visit nearby nature reserves like De Wieden and Weerribben-Wieden National Park. It is optional, where you can go hiking, bird-watching, or rent a canoe for a peaceful paddle.

We move to Steenwijk , explore the historic town of Steenwijk, which is known for its picturesque canals and old buildings.

Have lunch in a local cafe or restaurant in Steenwijk.

In the afternoon, visit the nearby town of Meppel, which has charming streets and a historic center.

Return to Giethoorn in the evening for your last night in the village.

Head to the hotel. Have lunch and overnight in the hotel in Giethoorn.

 

 

Day 6: Giethoorn – Groningen

After having breakfast, we leave the hotel for Groningen.

Groninger Museum: Visit the Groninger Museum, an architectural masterpiece itself. It houses an eclectic collection of art, including works by Dutch painters and contemporary art exhibitions.

Lunch: Enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants near the museum.

Afternoon: Martinitoren: Climb the Martinitoren, the iconic tower in the city center. It offers panoramic views of the city and the surrounding area.

Grote Markt: Stroll around the Grote Markt (main square), where you can admire the beautiful architecture, including the historic City Hall and the Martinitoren.

Head to the hotel. Have lunch and overnight in the hotel in Groningen.

 

 Day 7: Groningen – Wadden Sea and Islands – Groningen

After breakfast, in a hotel, we move with our driver to  Wadden Sea: Take a day trip to the UNESCO-listed Wadden Sea, known for its unique tidal ecosystem. You can join a guided tour or explore it on your own.

Lunch Schiermonnikoog or Borkum: Catch a ferry from Lauwersoog to either Schiermonnikoog (Netherlands) or Borkum (Germany), two beautiful islands in the Wadden Sea. Enjoy lunch on the island.

Afternoon: Island Exploration: Explore the island you’ve chosen. Both Schiermonnikoog and Borkum offer pristine beaches, dunes, and walking trails. 

Head to the hotel. Have lunch and overnight in the hotel in Groningen.

 

Day 8:  Groningen – Friesland

After breakfast, in a hotel, travel to Friesland, known for its scenic landscapes and waterways.

Explore the city: Walk around Leeuwarden’s historic center. Visit attractions like the Oldehove tower, the Fries Museum, or the Princessehof Ceramics Museum.

Lunch: Lunch at a local eatery: Enjoy a traditional Frisian meal at a local restaurant. Try “Fryske dumkes” (Frisian cookies) for dessert.

Take in the beautiful canals and historic buildings.

Head to the hotel. Have lunch and overnight in the hotel in Friesland.

 

Day 9: Friesland – The Hague

After breakfast, we depart Friesland  for The Hague, the political and administrative capital of the Netherlands.

Visit the Mauritshuis museum to see famous Dutch paintings, including Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring.”

Lunch

Explore the Binnenhof, home to the Dutch Parliament.

Stroll along the beach in Scheveningen if time allows.

Head to the hotel. Have lunch and overnight in the hotel in Hague.

 

Day 10: The Hague – Departure
